The Early Years and Childcare service brings you Threads of Success: our comprehensive suite of training, support and products for all those working within the early years and childcare sector. We currently deliver Kent County Council’s statutory early years and childcare responsibilities and work closely with a significant number of private, voluntary and independent nurseries, schools, academies, out of school providers and childminders in Kent, and beyond.

Our combination of Local Authority and voluntary/private sector knowledge and experience positions us to bring considerable expertise to provide you with the best possible solutions to your early years and childcare needs. With a varied selection of high quality training developers and deliverers and solid expertise in both universal and specific fields, we offer a one stop shop to support you and develop your practice.

Emporium Plus is our unique service that provides resources and advice on a wide range of items. Our resources are suited to children from birth to eleven years and are inclusive in supporting children with additional needs. We have over 3,500 items in our stock range.

Our main goal is to provide support in all areas of learning, to improve children’s chances of achieving their full potential at the end of the Early Years Foundation Stage, in primary education and beyond.

The Kent County Council (KCC) funded offer via The Education People is available to providers of early education and/or childcare within KCC’s geographical boundaries, registered with Ofsted or the Department for Education and/or with KCC to deliver Free Entitlement places; this includes:

  • Private, voluntary and independent group providers

  • Eligible childminders
  • Schools and academies admitting children under four.

*Please note that non-eligible childminders can access some elements of the offer only.

“I wish I could have had this when I came into the role of SENCo, everything is starting to make sense now. It’s easy to read, nice format - it’s not dry. I’ve been able to go and find what I was looking for.”
