Environmental Management and Environmental Policy

ISO 14001:2015 is the international management standard for the environment. ISO 14001 helps an organisation achieve the intended outcomes of its environmental management system, which provide value for the environment, the organisation and interested parties.

Key outcomes are:

  • the achievement of our environmental targets
  • enhancement of environmental performance
  • fulfilment of compliance obligations.

The Education People has been externally certified as operating an Environmental Management System that complies to the requirements of this standard since February 2021.

Achieving and retaining this standard recognises The Education People’s continued commitment to minimising the environmental impact of its operations and to protecting the environment, preventing pollution and taking account of the risks from a changing climate.

The Education People also recognises that the environment plays an important role in children’s development, providing new opportunities for learning, as well as supporting health and wellbeing through access to green spaces and connecting with nature.

The Education People is committed to achieving Net Zero emissions by 2030. To reach our target we have developed a comprehensive Carbon Reduction action plan.
