It is the responsibility of the designated safeguarding lead (DSL) to ensure all new and existing staff are appropriately trained in their safeguarding responsibilities, including those identified in Keeping Children Safe in Education. Kent Safeguarding Children Multi-Agency Partnership (KSCMP) stipulate that this training is updated every three years and Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSiE) requires staff to receive at least annual updates.

Bespoke whole school safeguarding training can be commissioned from the Education Safeguarding Service. For further information, please speak to your Area Safeguarding Adviser.

Bespoke online safety training for whole staff groups is also available. Please speak to the Education Safeguarding Adviser – online protection for further details.
