Polly Sharman

Polly is a valued member of The Education People, bringing a wealth of experience, dedication, and passion to her role as Senior Improvement Adviser. She plays a key role in supporting Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) in schools, helping to shape high-quality learning experiences for children at the very start of their education journey.

Since 2019, Polly has been part of our Primary School Improvement Team, leading and supporting schools with insight, encouragement, and practical expertise. Before this, she led a team of advisers, offering strategic support, guidance, and challenge to EYFS settings and schools across the county. She also held the strategic responsibility for the EYFS moderation process, ensuring consistent and high standards in early years provision.

With experience teaching and leading learning across all key stages—and having previously held leadership roles in primary schools—Polly brings both understanding and empathy to her work. She was proud to be awarded Advanced Skills Teacher Status for Early Years, recognising her commitment to exceptional teaching. More recently, she’s also supported education at a governance level, serving as a chair of governors.
