Brief overview

This is a follow up session in relation to the Senior Leaders Day. The session offers an opportunity to delegates to revisit any parts of the day course, it also goes through the results of the assignments issued to the headteachers at the previous session.  

Learning outcomes

  • By the end of the course delegates will have an appreciation of the key aspects of school funding, budget setting and monitoring.
  • Delegates will be aware of the financial controls and accountability in school for the head teacher and governors, to ensure that a school is financially well managed.
  • Delegates will be able to interpret financial information, based on reports provided in a school, to help make strategic decisions.
  • Understand the financial support and guidance available to schools.
