Brief overview
SENCOs have a valuable, varied and demanding role in schools, having to 'fire fight' and think strategically everyday. This session aims to support SENCOs on a practical level with how to carry out a self evaluation of provision; from analysing the SEND register to assessing what kind of provision is needed. It provides SENCOs with the opportunity to discuss what works well and unpick challenges.Learning outcomes
- To discuss and review current practice.
- To know how to carry out an accurate self-evaluation in order to support teachers and teaching assistants to become more skilled in identifying, planning and adapting learning for children with SEND.
- To build on knowledge and understanding regarding monitoring provision for SEND learners.
- To share top tips and strategies to support the role.
