Schools Financial Value Standard - SFVS

Brief overview
The Schools Financial Value Standard (SFVS) is a self-assessment tool that must be completed on an annual basis.The SFVS helps to provide schools with assurance that they are meeting the basic standards necessary to achieve a good level of financial health and resource management
The tool can be used to identify possible areas for change to ensure that resources are being used to support high-quality teaching and the best educational outcomes for pupils
All Local Authority Schools in Kent must submit the SFVS self-assessment by 31st March on an annual basis.
Learning outcomes
By the end of the session the delegates will:
- Be aware of any changes to the SFVS for March 2026.
- Understand what is required from the school for the SFVS self-evaluation.
- Know the areas covered under SFVS.
- Understand the role of the Local Authority.
- Be able to complete, with confidence, part of the self-evaluation.
- Understand some of the documents which support the self-evaluation.
