By the end of the training, you will:

• Be able to explain what challenging behaviour is
• Understand what influences a child's behaviour
• Be able to explain what stress is and know how to identify the key signs of stress
• Understand the terms hyperarousal and dissociation and identify the common signs of each
• Be able to describe several approaches that help children manage hyperarousal through soothing
• Be able to describe several approaches that help children manage dissociation through stimulation
• Understand the term attunement and be able to use attunement to manage challenging behaviour
• Be aware of other practical ideas to help manage children and young people through common issues
