KS1 Mid-year Assessment: Gap Analysis Workshop

Brief overview

This half-day workshop will allow teachers to work together and alongside trained moderators to carry out gap analysis in writing and maths at KS1. Its prime purpose will not be to verify teachers' judgements at this stage, but instead to support and promote rapid progress by identifying next steps for children, set against age-related expectations.

If you are unable to attend this course, we are also running it on 19 January 2026 at The John Wesley Church of England and Methodist Primary School, Ashford

Learning outcomes

  • To provide a supportive and professional network to identify what has been achieved so far, and where pupils' next steps should be.
  • To clarify and sharpen future planning and pupil targets, in order to promote achievement and progress for the whole class.
