Financial Controls: Compliance

Brief Overview

This session is open to Local Authority (Kent) schools only.  The session is aimed at school-based finance staff who would like to update their knowledge of financial management and controls in accordance with the Scheme for Financing Schools and KCC’s Financial Controls.  It would also be a suitable webinar for governors to attend. 

The session includes a presentation by a guest speaker who is an expert in this field. 

Although this course is aimed at all finance staff there will be an expectation that delegates attending will have a basic level of knowledge/understanding of school finance. 

There will be various briefings and presentations on the following areas: 

• briefing on financial controls in line with some of the main areas covered during compliance visits
• payroll
• governance
• virements
• lettings
• purchase card transactions etc.
