Supporting Children and Families.
Are you confident in supporting children who are learning English as an additional Language (EAL)?
A child’s home language is a fundamental aspect of their personal and cultural identity. This training course will develop your knowledge of how to offer appropriate support to bilingual learners and their families.
It will provide you with information about accessing useful resources to support families and children and will explain effective strategies which support children to become confident communicators and access all learning opportunities.
What delegates have said
"We intend to update the questions we ask our EAL families to reflect the wider family that may spend time with the children attending our setting and to use a standard form with all families as at the moment we ask when needed rather than as a standard part of our settling in practice." Wendy, Poplar Pre-school.
