Brief overview

The impact of socio-economic disadvantage on pupils' academic outcomes and their future life chances is clearly documented and schools face increasing challenges in identifying and mitigating the issues limiting their pupils' success.

This full day course will explore how you can use your pupil premium strategy to transform learning and life chances for your most vulnerable pupils. Delegates will be supported to  to review current practice, highlight their current contextual challenges and plan evidence-based actions to bring about change, aligned to current guidance and best practice research. By the end of the day, delegates will be fully equipped to complete their Pupil Premium Strategy.

Learning outcomes

  • Review and evaluate the impact of their current pupil premium strategy.
  • Highlight issues that are preventing disadvantaged pupils from achieving and participating in school-life.
  • Identify areas for development that lead to planned evidence-based actions to bring about change.
  • Develop a long term strategy that meets the current DFE requirements, aligns with school improvement priorities and promotes ownership and responsibility by the whole school.
