The statutory guidance ‘Keeping Children Safe in Education’ (KCSIE) requires all staff working in schools and colleges to undergo safeguarding and child protection training. This training should be provided at induction and be regularly updated in line with advice from the local three safeguarding partners. In addition, all staff should receive regular safeguarding and child protection updates as required, and at least annually, to provide them with relevant skills and knowledge to safeguard children effectively.
To support Designated Safeguarding Leads (DSLs) in schools provide staff training themselves in line with national guidance and local Kent processes, the Education Safeguarding Service have produced a PowerPoint presentation template and supplementary guidance document.
By purchasing this downloadable resource pack, you will be granted access to a PowerPoint presentation and PDF document to use for the year. The Education Safeguarding Service will update the pack as required following any changes to relevant guidance; please ensure you check for any updates before the content is delivered.
The content has been created specifically for Kent schools in line with the Kent Safeguarding Children Multi-Agency Partnership (KSCMP) procedures, however, establishments outside of Kent will be able to adapt the slides to reflect their own local procedures.
This pack must only be used and delivered by an appropriately trained DSL and is for use within your school only. It is currently based on the KCSIE 2021 guidance.
