Prime Importance of Physical Development E-learning

Audience: Early Years Practitioners & Managers

This E-learning course will support your understanding of physical development for children 0-5. It will provide you with opportunity to reflect on your practice and consider the importance of supporting and planning for physical development in the early years.

This course has been jointly written by the Equality and Inclusion team, Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy teams, and aims to provide an alternative format to our Face 2 Face training day.​

Please note, this course is only applicable nurseries, settings and childminders in Kent.

This is the second module in the Prime Importance E-learning series, you may also want to complete the first course in this series:

  • To increase your knowledge and awareness of children's physical and functional development in relation to fine and gross motor skills and sensory processing.
  • To equip you with strategies and ideas for activities and resources to help children develop these skills.
  • Learn about the importance of differentiating activities and resources to promote a positive impact on all children’s learning.

To raise awareness and knowledge of physical development, alongside providing practical strategies to support practice and move through the graduated approach as appropriate.
