Volunteer as an enterprise adviser

As an Enterprise Adviser you’ll work directly with a school or college’s senior leadership team to develop their careers programme.

You will combine your passion for raising the aspirations of young people with your strategic skills to help put opportunities with local employers at the heart of a young person’s education.

  • Senior-level professionals.
  • Experience of different industry sectors and professional backgrounds, be that employed, self-employed or recently retired.
  • They are dedicated to making a lasting impact on the future outcomes of young people.
  • Commit around 8 hours per month for one academic year.
  • Give back to your community.
  • Support your local school or college to deliver high-quality guidance to their students.
  • Undertake strategic planning in a new context, developing your skills in communications and strategy development.
  • Build strong working relationships with your local school or college, and providing an insight into your organisation and industry.
  • A better understanding of the education sector and the challenges that are faced.
  • Provide schools and colleges with an employer’s perspective.
  • Supporting the school or college’s senior leadership team.
  • Engaging with local businesses and employers in your network.
  • Help schools and colleges to focus efforts on careers.
