We are a well established and popular sessional pre-school (rated Outstanding by Ofsted, March 2022) and are looking for a Level 2 or Level 3 practitioner to work as part of a small and dedicated team from September 2024.

This will include the following duties:
o To prepare as necessary for each pre-school session;
o To lead some sessions or certain activities as required and depending on experience;
o To attend any relevant statutory training courses;
o To continue to develop skills and knowledge through ongoing CPD;
o To have a sound knowledge and understanding of Safeguarding;
o To have an interest in and developing knowledge of SEN;
o To have a sound practical knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage;
o To take responsibility as a key person for a number of individual children, developing them according to their needs, and reporting on and assessing them using Tapestry on-line Learning Journals;
o To attend regular staff meetings;
o To assist in clearing, tidying and packing away as necessary.

The successful applicant must display the following attributes:
o A genuine empathy towards and understanding of children including their physical and emotional needs;
o The ability to work as a member of a small team and have the ability to use their own initiative where appropriate;
o Good communication skills;
o Flexibility and adaptability in performance of the role, including the availability to cover for staff training or absences.
The role will be dependent on a satisfactory Enhanced DBS and full references, including last employer. A full Job Description will be available in the Job Information Pack. The successful applicant will also need either to hold a current Paediatric First Aid Certificate or be prepared to attend the relevant training before taking up the role.
