Audience: Early Years & Childcare
Single session
  • Foundation

Brief Overview

EY Ofsted Registered PVI settings within the boundaries of Kent can attend free of charge.

Please note maximum of 2 delegates per setting can attend.

Would you like to support children in your setting to:

  • learn to value and respect the uniqueness of each individual, while also building their own positive self-esteem?develop a sense of fairness and empathy, the basis for learning to be respectful and kind?
  • learn through play about social and cultural groups, gently helping children to think about how they are different from, and similar to other people?
  • feel confident to make choices and contribute to decisions which have a positive impact?

This bespoke training workshop will share information, ideas, practical activities and resources to support early years professionals to introduce children in preschool settings to understanding the world around them.

The presentation, video, hands on early years materials and displays will enable participants to return to their settings and easily embed the ideas and activities in their day to day practice.

98% of previous delegates have rated the workshops as excellent with comments including:

“This course highlights different ways of thinking about the Global Goals from the child’s perspective. I appreciate the knowledge, warmth and enthusiasm of the personnel, brilliant ideas, beautiful presentation, informative with a strong message.”

“The example activity I made during the session inspired me to create similar ones of my own to help pre-schoolers develop their knowledge in this area. We have incorporated this into our curriculum and made extra resources to enhance the ones we made on the course.”

“Fantastic interactive training, in 10 years as an early year’s practitioner I have enjoyed this the most and felt so at ease to be able to talk with others, you are all so friendly, it has been a really informative afternoon, thank you.”

Ofsted has also recognised the Global Goals workshops during inspections:

“An ESD sustainability project aims to teach children about becoming useful citizens in a changing world.”

“Children gain an incredibly in-depth knowledge about the world they live in, which encourages them to care deeply for the environment and their local community. For example, the nursery completes the 'Global Goals’, this focuses on teaching children to understand sustainability.”

“Staff are helping children understand their role in creating a sustainable future, such as through re-using and recycling, saving water and making links with other children throughout the world.”
