Supporting Young People with Transition from KS4 to KS5

Audience: Primary
Single session

Brief Overview

These workshops aim to provide foster carers with clear direction on how to support their young people in Key Stages 3 & 4 with the options and opportunities available in Post 16 (KS5).

We will aim to provide insight on when to make applications for Post 16 education provisions, which platform to use for applications and the variety of options for young people when moving into Post16. We will discuss the 16-19 Bursary for young people, bus passes, re-taking GCSE’s in Maths and English and the support that can be expected when young people move in to Post 16 including PEP’s, tuition and additional support.

These workshops will be supported by Key Stage 4 Progression Advisors, Post 16 Education Support Officers and Fostering Education Liaison Officers within VSK.
