Brief Overview

'Lift the lid’ on history in your school!

 During this half day training history subject leaders will explore how the principles and processes of the Ofsted deep dive approach can be effectively used within school to gain an accurate picture of strengths and areas for development in their subject. Each delegate will have access to a pack of deep dive history monitoring support materials to use in school.

Learning Outcomes


  • To understand the elements of the deep dive process and how to establish an accurate and connected evidence base.
  • To consider enquiry questions, possible evidence, methods of monitoring and how to evaluate findings.
  • To be able to evaluate the subject across the primary phase by looking at evidence of intent, implementation and impact.
  • To consider how to build on your school’s current monitoring, evaluation, feedback and reporting processes.
