Financial Controls: Licensed Deficit

Brief Overview

This session is open to Local Authority (Kent) schools only.  The session is aimed at school-based finance staff who would like to update their knowledge of financial management and controls in accordance with the Scheme for Financing Schools and KCC’s Financial Controls.  

The session will include a presentation by a guest speaker who is an expert in their own field.   

Although these courses are aimed at all finance staff there will be an expectation that delegates attending will have a basic level of knowledge/understanding of school finance. 

Course Description 

There will be various discussions, briefings and presentations on the following areas: 

• financial controls that affect schools who may be facing financial difficulty
• how to access financial support and guidance 
• licensed deficits and the School Support Team in Schools Financial Services (School Support Team)
