Brief overview


Rachel spent 31 years working in the Police, mostly as a detective and safeguarding specialist.  

Rachel has predominantly worked in the field of investigation within Child Abuse, Domestic Abuse, Sexual Abuse & Vulnerable Adults.  Rachel spent six years within the leaning and development department of her previous Police force and delivered multiple training courses on domestic abuse.  

Rachel is passionate about keeping those most vulnerable in our communities safe.  She enjoys sharing her experience as an experienced investigator and is always seeking a dynamic delivery to the training she delivers and consultancy she offers.

Learning outcomes

  • Recognise what Domestic Abuse is, including coercive and controlling behaviour and stalking
  • Be aware of Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) and have an understanding of how Domestic Abuse is included
  • Describe the risk factors that exist in Domestic Abuse situations
  • Identify abuse known as Adolescent to Parent (APV) and how to protect themselves as carers
  • List relevant pieces of legislation connected with Domestic Abuse 
  • Explain national landscape of Domestic Abuse 
  • Summarise potential mirroring behaviour and disregulated children and young people due to witnessing domestic abuse
  • Demonstrate learning using a case study
