Diving Deeper into Mathematics - Preparing Subject Leads for Inspection

Brief Overview

Whilst a Deep Dive in Reading is a given in any Ofsted inspection, a Deep Dive in Maths is also highly likely. This course will help to prepare Maths Subject Leaders to provide a comprehensive and knowledgeable summary of their subject area, getting to grips with EYFS right through to Year 6, whilst identifying areas that need further investigation or development.

Please note: This is a three-part course. Delegates must commit to attending all three sessions and completing the intersessional tasks.

 

Learning Outcomes

  • Develop an understanding of the purpose and scope of a Deep Dive.
  • Understand the role of the subject leader in an inspection.
  • Understand the requirements of the Early Years Framework and what good maths provision looks like in EYFS.
  • Recognise trends and signposts in data that could direct the Deep Dive.
  • Know how to write a clear action plan based on the concept of the three 'I's - Intention, Implementation and Impact.
  • Develop strategies for getting staff on board with development plans.
