Building Emotional Literacy-brain integration Foster Carers

Audience: Foster Care
Single session

Brief overview

The aim of this workshop is to enable carers to learn more about the link between emotional literacy and resilience in children. Advancements in the fields of attachment and neuroscience have shown how important brain integration is to developing resilience and how emotional literacy and emotional regulation are key elements of this.

In this workshop we will explore everyday ways to increase children’s emotional literacy and provide a reflective space for carers to consider how to apply these to the children in their care. We will consider the opportunities carers get in daily life to have empathic conversations with the children in their care and consider ways of building on these to make them more meaningful.
