There are a wide range of educational opportunities for key stages 3 and 4. We offer a range of specific activities and can also work with teaching staff to support programmes of study which mirror the National Curriculum targets.

We also welcome groups who wish to carry out fieldwork. These groups can use a variety of habitats, classroom space and basic field equipment.

Team Building
Outdoor learning is proven to have a positive effect on young people, and our team building days are great for both small and large groups of students. Suitable for students in years 7 to 13 we can even accommodate whole year groups.  This can be as part of an adventure or induction week, for individual classes of students as a team building activity, or to meet PSHE curriculum targets.  Our woodland setting is the ideal environment for your students’ skills and team spirit to flourish.

Benefits for students:

  • Develop trust, co-operation and respect for others
  • Appreciate the benefits of working as a team
  • Develop leadership and collaborative skills
  • Observe peers in a different environment (for an appreciation of skills and qualities that may not be obvious in a classroom)
  • A fun, healthy and active day, close to nature and away from technology!
  • Great for developing confidence and making new friends.

These visits can be linked to the national curriculum for: citizenship, design and technology, english, art and design.  Your students’ day will be tailored to their needs and the aims you have set for the day.  Each day will include four activities from the following list: activities for key stage 3 and 4 Kent Country Parks.

Forest Schools

The Country Parks forest schools programme is a great way to enrich teaching the curriculum through woodland adventure.

Our activities can be used as a single session to complement traditional subjects or as a stand-alone unit where groups can visit for a set number of weeks. Each programme is unique, tailored to the needs of your group of children and run by fully qualified level 3 practitioners. The forest schools are available for both primary and secondary school pupils and beyond. The key areas targeted for development include:

  • Social
  • Physical
  • Intellectual
  • Language and linguistics
  • Emotional
  • Self-confidence.

Run over six sessions, our seedlings forest school programme has been specifically designed for early year’s children.  It includes sensory, bush craft and play-based activities, and games and songs, all of which encourage the children to build relationships and self-esteem.

The programme also covers the six areas of the early years foundation stage framework, so you can be assured that your pupils are learning whilst having fun.

Location: Shorne Woods, Lullingstone, Trosley and Brockhill Country Parks
Maximum 15 pupils per session.

Primary school children thrive in a woodland setting. They are still young enough to enjoy games and stories while also being able to develop practical skills and take on a greater level of responsibility.

The programme links with many areas of the national curriculum including, maths, English, science, design and technology, art and design and citizenship.

Location: Shorne Woods, Lullingstone, Trosley and Brockhill Country Parks

  • Natural art
  • Forest orchestra.

All of our activities are linked to the national curriculum, and we can tailor flexible courses complementing classroom subjects.
