We are excited to be offering two routes into teaching in partnership with a top-rated provider of the Department for Education's teacher progression pathway, Best Practice Network (BPN). Both courses awarding QTS:
- The Postgraduate Teacher Apprenticeship – ideal for those already working in schools, who have a degee, and is free for the learner. Successful completion of this programme will award Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a Level 6 Teacher Apprenticeship Qualification, which will qualify you to teach in all schools in England.
- The Postgraduate Initial Teacher Training Postgraduate Teacher Training - Fee Funded. – best for those not currently employed by a school. This pathway is fee funded (i.e. the student pays their tuition fees, often through a student loan, rather than relying on a fully funded scholarship or bursary). Successful completion of this programme leads to Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) which will qualify you to teach in all schools across England.
Both programmes offer a range of benefits, including placement experience in our partner schools, the opportunity to apply your learning in practice and full support from BPN tutors and mentors. The curriculum is carefully structured to build on the trainees previous learning and gives access to the latest research and evidence into teacher training.
Postgraduate Teacher Apprenticeship:
- the Postgraduate Teacher Apprenticeship is an alternative to traditional university-based teacher training. Trainee teachers are employed by a school while learning on the job. Trainees do not pay fees as funding comes by way of the school / trust’s Apprenticeship Levy. Bursaries are available to support both trainees and host schools.
Postgraduate Initial Teacher Training:
- the Postgraduate Initial Teacher Training offers practical training in our schools with the support of skilled colleagues. Successful completion of the programme leads to Qualified Teacher Status (QTS). Trainees are required to fund the training themselves however student loans are available. Bursaries and grants are available to support both trainees and host schools.
