Effective strategies for communication with EAL and minority ethnic parents

Effective strategies for communicating with families who have English as an Additional Language including Gypsy Roma and Traveller families

In order to be able to communicate effectively with families who have English as an additional language staff need to have a greater knowledge and understanding of language acquisition and to develop different language skills.

How can the Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Team help?

The Equality Diversity Inclusion Team (EDIT) offer consultancy, support, bespoke and centralised training to schools (including multi academy trusts and collaborations) and other professionals working with families who have English as an Additional Language. Our support can be adapted to meet the needs of different departments and organisations to reflect the messages and information that need to be communicated to their service users.
