Fran Rusbridge

Fran is a dedicated and experienced member of The Education People’s School Improvement team, bringing over two decades of leadership expertise to her role as Improvement Adviser. She works closely with schools to drive sustainable improvement, develop leadership capacity, and ensure high-quality outcomes for all learners.

Before joining The Education People, Fran served as a headteacher and executive headteacher for 18 years, leading infant, junior, and primary schools across Kent, Surrey, and West London. She has a strong track record of transforming underperforming schools—taking them from challenging circumstances to achieving good and outstanding outcomes through a focus on strategic leadership and inclusive practice.

Fran is passionate about developing current and future school leaders and supporting schools to create strong, self-sustaining communities. Known for her creative and courageous approach, she champions curriculum innovation tailored to the needs of each unique school community.

She also brings valuable experience in leading complex change, including overseeing the successful federation of a large infant and junior school—aligning standards and strengthening governance across both settings.
