Time to talk technology

Technology is a fast-paced industry. Are you and your children keeping up? Have fun exploring technology during this training, looking beyond laptops and tablets to support children’s understanding of the world within your setting.

This half day early years training will support you to:
• use play-based learning to motivate and enhance technology learning across the EYFS curriculum
• consider how children’s starting points in technology are being captured and used to motivate and challenge learning
• investigate a range of technology resources and plan how they could be used to enhance the seven areas of learning
• reflect on and review current practice in relation to technology provision within your setting.

Early Years Briefing and Networking Session

The Early Years and Childcare Briefing and Networking Meetings are an opportunity for early years and childcare group providers in the private, voluntary, independent and maintained sectors to receive important national and local information from the Early Years and Childcare Service and other relevant partners and agencies. Guest speakers from a range of partners will be included over the sessions held three times a year in each area. This will also be a valuable networking opportunity for all providers.
Information sharing and networking opportunity for early years and childcare group providers in the private, voluntary, independent and maintained sectors.

Registered Person Role in Quality Assurance

This course is for individuals responsible and accountable for the provision of Early Years Education and Childcare in an Ofsted registered setting who do not manage its day-to-day running. This includes committee members and trustees of a charity, individual owners (e.g. sole traders), partners in a limited liability partnership, directors on the executive board of a registered company.
Entry requirements include an:

  • understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage Framework (previous experience/knowledge or completion of e-learning module)
  • awareness of Safeguarding requirements in Early Years settings
  • overview of the Quality Audit for the Registered Person Part 1 (it will be emailed to delegates prior to the attendance)

This half day training will support you to:

• explore and define quality practice in settings
• identify the role of effective leadership in your provision
• explore strategies to support quality leadership
• foster a culture of continuous quality improvement.

The Kent County Council (KCC) funded offer

The Kent County Council (KCC) funded offer via The Education People is available to providers of early education and/or childcare within KCC’s geographical boundaries, registered with Ofsted or the Department for Education and/or with KCC to deliver Free Entitlement places; this includes:

  • Private, voluntary and independent group providers
  • Out of school childcare providers
  • Eligible childminders
  • Schools and academies admitting children under four
