Teachers Pension Grant
The Education Skills & Funding Agency (ESFA) have published information in relation to the funding for the increase in Teachers Pension Employer contributions from 16.48% to 23.6% as of 1 September 2019.
Additional funding will be provided to schools and academies which will be based on the pupil numbers from the previous year's census.
This will be paid to schools via the local authority and directly to academies by the ESFA later in the year. As per the guidance from the DfE Kent and Medway schools should code this to CFR code I01.
Further details are available on KELSI including a calculator to help schools work out their expected funding for budget setting purposes via the following link:

Details on the funding rates and rationale can be found via:
New CFR Code
A new CFR Code has been added for 2019/20.
I08 has been split into I08A and I08B.
A new FMS6 procedure note (85) has been sent out to schools to assist them with adding this to their accounting system.
BPS users will have already had this added to their system and should use the existing I08 CFR code when budget setting/monitoring against I08A
Further details on the CFR codes can be found via:
Teachers Pay on BPS
As a result of the expectation from central government that the teachers pay scales will be increasing by 2% from 1 September 2019, the payscales on BPS have been updated to reflect this.
The payscale points for all other future years have been set with a default increase of 1% from the previous year.

The Kent Range for 2019-20 has now been published.
Please remember to update each member of support staff in your employee scenario in order that this is recalculated correctly.
The BPS sites have now been updated to reflect these for any Kent schools following the Kent recommendation for support staff.
Any schools or academies who follow KCC's terms and conditions in their pay policy and apply TCP increments from September will
need to ensure that their staff are increased to the minimum of the new bands from April 2019 in line with the information provided on the SPS bulletin.
Procedure notes are available to provide details on how to apply this on the BPS in the Help & User Guidance section.
