NEW E-learning from our School Improvement Service!

Our lead advisers for Maths, English and Assessment and Moderation have written content for 4 new e-learning courses.  These are now live and ready for you to take.  The courses can be accessed multiple times, progress is saved so if you don’t have time to complete in one session you can return to where you left off.

Developing fluency in multiplication facts

Multiplication forms a key part of the National Curriculum yet it is often one of the weakest areas of knowledge and understanding, for pupils and staff. Ensuring teachers and Teaching Assistants have the subject knowledge necessary to provide pupils with secure foundations in multiplication is crucial. If you are concerned that your staff and pupils are not ready for the new Year 4 Multiplication Screening Check, which becomes statutory in June 2020, this eLearning module is the perfect way to prepare. As an online course, you can choose how many staff to train and when to deliver the training, making this a flexible and cost-effective solution.

This course is available from £35 per user plus 20% VAT.   To find out more click here

Developing number sense through the use of manipulatives in KS1

To achieve mastery of the KS1 maths curriculum, we need to ensure that all pupils have a deep conceptual understanding. Manipulatives are a key element of this, yet not all staff are confident in how to use mathematical equipment to teach the curriculum requirements. This eLearning module will explore a range of manipulatives, commonly found in all primary schools. The course is suitable for both teachers and TAs and could be delivered to a whole staff or a targeted group. As an online course, you can choose how many staff to train and when to deliver the training, making this a flexible and cost-effective solution.

This course is available from £35 per user plus 20% VAT.   To find out more click here

If you’re not sure how to go about it effectively, try this simple-to-use module which has done the thinking for you.  This module provides two presentations to be conducted over separate sessions, to assist your school or collaboration to conduct your own moderation of reading.  A moderation form for use in all year groups from 1 to 6 is also included.
