COVID-19 update from the safeguarding service

COVID-19 Toolkit

We have put together a COVID-19 toolkit for leaders and governors which outlines what schools should be thinking about regarding self isolation and/or closure. It has been sent out to schools by Matt Dunkley, Corporate Director of Children, Young People and Education at Kent County Council.

It includes what DSLs should have in place, thinking about vulnerable children and how it will impact them and considerations regarding distance learning too.

Template letter for education settings

With the closure of many schools and settings in response to COVID-19 (Coronavirus), the Education People recognise that an increasing number of children will be learning and playing online over the coming weeks. Educational settings may be concerned about possible safeguarding implications of this, so we have a drafted a template letter which may be helpful for leaders and managers to adapt and share with their community.

Kent schools and settings can seek advice from the Education Safeguarding Service in relation to online and offline safeguarding concerns alternatively here are our emergency contact details.
