Wellbeing Toolkit for Parents

This is a series of four recorded webinars delivered by two experts in the field of wellbeing and anxiety. The aims of the webinars are to provide both parents and their children with guidance and support on how they can improve their self-esteem, confidence and reduce anxiety. There is also a specific webinar that focuses on how to support children with autism around their possible increased levels of anxiety.


Parents and carers will receive practical strategies and solutions to the issues that they may currently be experiencing. The content and strategies included are suitable for parents and carers with children of all ages, but as with all things, you may find some are more appropriate to your child than others.

All four recorded webinars in the toolkit are available for the total price of £20 +VAT, and can be watched when it is convenient for you.

This webinar will cover:

  • spotting the signs of how children and young people demonstrate stress and anxiety
  • developing communication strategies to unravel stress and anxiety in your child
  • a positive toolkit for supporting your child's wellbeing.

This webinar covers:

  • knowing when your child is lacking in self-esteem and confidence
  • strategies, skills, and methods to boost your child's self-esteem and confidence
  • maintaining positivity within your child.

This webinar will cover:

  • exploring how therapeutic skills can support both you and your child
  • addressing emotional health with therapeutic activities
  • maintaining a holistic approach for family wellbeing.

This webinar covers:

  • exploring need – how can I support my autistic child to manage anxieties around the changes due to COVID-19
  • addressing needs – how to help my autistic child manage anxieties
  • practical ways to manage anxiety for autistic children.

Taster Clips

The Department for Education has worked with the Department of Health and Social Care, Health Education England, Public Health England, NHS England  and an expert advisory group to develop Wellbeing for Education Return.

As part of the programme this FREE webinar Helping Parents and Carers to Support Children's Emotional Wellbeing in Times of Uncertainty - led by Kelly Hannaghan, Mental Health and Wellbeing Consultant - will offer parents and carers a space to gain knowledge rich approaches and key skills to help you recognise and respond to your child's emotional health needs both within and beyond the pandemic.

The aims of this session:

  • to provide you with a safe space to pause and reflect on your own emotional needs and the needs of your child
  • explore the possible impact that the pandemic has had on your family
  • gain an understanding on how to protect mental health and wellbeing in challenging times
  • take away top tips for helping your child thrive through resilience
  • start to build your own family wellbeing toolkit.
