Brief Overview

This training session will support leaders and teachers to use assessment purposefully in the science curriculum to positively impact pupils' learning. Focusing on assessment as learning, assessment for learning and assessment of learning, delegates will leave the session with clear and practical ways to make science assessment work in the classroom.

Learning Outcomes

  • A clear understanding of what purposeful assessment looks like in practice in science -  through a lesson, at the end of a unit and across year groups.
  • Examples to support teachers to implement successful and meaningful assessment.
  • How to plan for meaningful assessment without impacting teacher wellbeing.
  • Knowledge of the latest research from Ofsted, EEF and other professional bodies.
