Let's Get the Children Back to School: Motivating Good Attendance for all Pupils
The decline in attendance in recent years has been well publicised and is high on the agenda for national government, local authorities and schools. In total, 22.3 per cent of pupils missed more than one in 10 sessions in the 2022-23 academic year and almost 2 in 5 disadvantaged pupils were persistently absent.
This conference will consider how an inclusive school culture, underpinned by strong relationships can motivate attendance, nurture social inclusion and enable meaningful success. Our keynote speaker Marc Rowland will focus on examining your culture to ensure true social inclusion and high expectations, leading to real achievement. Delegates will have the opportunity to consider the specific drivers to improve attendance so that our most vulnerable children attend and succeed. Latest guidance, resources, research and examples of effective practice will be shared to support leaders in reviewing their current provision and identifying areas of change.
Although aimed at senior leaders, the conference will be useful for other school staff who have a particular focus on attendance.
