Brief Overview

Session 2: Leadership and Management: Developing future leaders through coaching and mentoring

A series of five half day sessions run across the academic year providing an opportunity for deputy and assistant headteachers to learn and develop new skills through training, networking with colleagues and discussion around current hot educational topics. Participants will have the opportunity to visit different settings and engage in co coaching opportunities. Each session will be framed by an aspect of the Education Inspection Framework. It is recommended that participants attend all five sessions.

Learning Outcomes

Develop an understanding of educational leadership within local and national contexts and how relationships and partnerships are the foundation of a good school.
Use and apply the EIF and research based evidence within the context of different settings.
Learn and develop coaching and mentoring skills.
Use and develop self evaluation and improvement planning as a tool to successful leadership.
