Brief Overview

This half day course is accredited by Mental Health First Aid England and is an introductory level course designed to introduce the idea of talking about mental health.

This will tackle stigma, empowering people to utilise the other initiatives and support programmes you have available in your organisation.

This course is suitable to all members of an organisation and ‘Mental HealthAware’ employees are a great additional resource to sit alongside accredited Mental Health First Aiders.

Learning Outcomes

Key features of the course include:

  • Gaining a basic knowledge of what mental health is and some common mental health conditions.
  • Looking after your own mental health and maintaining wellbeing.
  • Increasing your confidence to support someone in distress or who may be experiencing a mental health issue.

Everyone who completes the course gets:

  • A certificate of attendance to say you are Mental Health Aware.
  • A manual to refer to whenever you need it.
  • A workbook including a helpful toolkit to support your own mental health.

NOTE – The subject matter discussed can be sensitive and distressing. Please ensure you are comfortable and prepared to discuss topics relating to depression, anxiety, psychosis, eating disorders, suicide and self harm before booking.
