Brief Overview

This course supports Primary and Secondary schools with analysing and supporting writing of children with English as an Additional Language. Tools will be shared as will research from Lynne Cameron.

Information on showing impact and good practice/strategies for accelerating progress made in writing will be shared.  

Learning Outcomes

  • To understand principles and pedagogy which underpin the learning of children with English as an Additional Language.
  • To be able to identify common writing errors made by children with EAL.
  • To put into practice Teaching and Learning Cycle for writing.
  • To know which strategies will accelerate the writing progress of EAL children.
