Brief Overview
This workshop will support you to consider how phonological awareness can be developed, both through the learning environment, and discrete teaching. It will provide you with a variety of techniques to support you to plan stimulating and engaging sessions, whilst supporting effective practice, for developing phonological awareness. Learning Outcomes
- Understand the importance of phonological awareness in developing early language and literacy.
- Explore how a wide range of age appropriate play based activities, rhymes, games and songs can target specific aspects of phonological development.
- Reflect on, and audit, current practice in relation to successfully supporting children's progress in early phonics.
