Promoting Gypsy, Roma and Traveller achievement, engagement and wellbeing and sustaining education

To improve outcomes for Gypsy, Roma and Traveller pupils our team of highly experienced advisory teachers offer bespoke work in schools and settings, this includes:

  • Undertaking pupil observations and assessments to identify need and barriers to engagement and recommend effective strategies to overcome these
  • Providing 1-1 or group support and mentoring
  • Modelling Gypsy, Roma and Traveller inclusive lessons and workshops to ensure that Gyps, Roma and Traveller pupils feel valued, recognised and respected within the school
  • Offering ideas and support to celebrate Gypsy, Roma and Traveller history month, to develop understanding and respect for Gypsy, Roma and Traveller culture
  • Delivering bespoke training to staff and governors
  • Curriculum and resource audit to ensure it is Gypsy, Roma and Traveller inclusive
  • Liaison with families
  • Ensuring that staff are aware that the majority of Gypsy, Roma and Traveller pupils have English as an additional language (EAL) and recommending effective English as an additional language strategies.

Pricing

Inclusion Support Services Kent (ISSK) support, consultancy and bespoke training can be bought:

  • Through the Inclusion Support Service Kent (ISSK) Service Level Agreement (SLA)
  • Using School Improvement credits (half day - 5 credits, full day - 10 credits)
  • Ad hoc (half day - £300, full day - £600) plus VAT if appropriate.
