Prime importance of physical development

This training builds on practitioner knowledge, understanding and skills at universal level. It will help you to identify children at risk of delay, and support their physical development through targeted activities and interventions. It will help you to recognise when a referral to other professionals is necessary. The course is jointly written and delivered by Early Years and Childcare Equality and Inclusion Team, NHS Paediatric Physiotherapist and Occupational Therapist. The course includes a range of interactive, practical activities and strategies, as well as current research and information to enhance your practice.

This full day training will support you to:

  • increase staff knowledge and awareness of children’s physical and functional development in relation to both gross and fine motor skills.
  • equip staff with strategies and ideas for activities and resources to help children develop these skills.
  • discuss the importance of differentiating activities to promote a positive impact on children’s learning.

Up to 25 delegates can attend this event.
