Outdoor Play - DW12
Children develop in the context of relationships and the environment around them. This wheel, written by Gail Ryder-Richardson, explores the ways in which children engage with other people and their environment – playing and exploring, active learning, and creating and thinking critically – underpinning learning and development across all areas and support children to remain effective and motivated learners.
Split into nine age-related sections, one side of the wheel focuses on some of the things that a child may be able to do, whilst the other side of the wheel looks at outdoor play and learning, offering tips and ideas about what to do with children in an outside environment to help their development.
The wheel covers many areas of the outdoors, including the garden, trips to the shops, visits to the park or just sitting, watching and talking to enjoy the different environments brought about by our ever changing seasons and learn about the things around us.
All the regular sized discs are approx. 230mm in diameter and are laminated for strength.
