What delegates said

"Engaged with this better than the face-to-face training!" Sandgate

"I found that I learnt a lot more from the online course than I have every learnt at a face to face DSL training or refresher.  Links to websites and documentation were extremely helpful." Hillview School for Girls

This E-learning course has been developed by the Education Safeguarding Service to enable experienced Designated Safeguarding Leads (DSL) and Deputy DSLs in schools and colleges to refresh their knowledge and skills and meet the requirement for updated training in line with ‘Keeping Children Safe in Education’.

This course explores specific procedures and support available in Kent, including Kent Safeguarding Children Multi-Agency Partnership, Integrated Children’s Services and the ‘Front Door’.  DSLs outside of Kent can access this course, however, they will need to undertake independent research to ensure they understand their own local guidance and processes.
Please note:

Delegates MUST book themselves onto this course; CPD leads cannot purchase on a delegate’s behalf.
The training certificate accessed via this E-learning course will be valid for 1 year.

Why should you take this course?

This course will enable existing DSLs and deputy DSLs in schools and colleges to:

  • revisit and update their knowledge of national legislation and guidance pertaining to safeguarding children
  • explore Kent’s specific safeguarding children procedures, including the consultation and Integrated Front Door process
  • reflect, analyse and improve the safeguarding practice within their school/setting
