In Years 1 and 2 we want all our children to be motivated by meaningful learning opportunities so that they make strong progress. Throughout the day we will be stitching together evidence-informed teaching approaches to deliver the Key Stage 1 curriculum in a way that enables children to successfully transfer key knowledge to their long term memory without adding to your workload!
Speakers include:
- Ruth Swailes - Continuous Provision – what constitutes an enabling environment, how does it work and how can it support learning in the key stage 1 classroom?
- Lindsay Pickton – Reading Across the KS1 Curriculum
- Anthony Barlow – Real, Meaningful Geography: Developing Place Knowledge
There will be workshops from Ruth and Anthony plus workshops from Laurie Jacques on ‘Mathematical Talk for Deep Mathematical Learning’ and Hythe Bay Primary School looking at the trials and tribulations of setting up continuous provision in their school and their journey.
There will be the opportunity for delegates to network throughout the course of the day.
