Axe Throwing at Bewl Water Outdoor Centre

Event Date: October and November 2020

Axe throwing is our brand-new activity at Bewl Water Outdoor Centre!

The modern sport of axe throwing involves a competitor throwing an axe at a target and attempting to hit the bullseye, or as near as possible.

Surrounded in a beautiful woodland you can experience what it is like to feel like a real warrior!

Axe-throwing is a thoroughly satisfying activity, as well as a great way to relieve stress and have fun!

An hour on the range is an exciting and sociable way for you, friends, and family to enjoy the outdoors this Autumn, all in accordance with the Government’s COVID-19 guidelines.

As you need to be able to lift and throw the axe, it’s a technique which might not be possible for the little ones. We suggest that this activity is suitable people aged 10+.

The hour's session is £15 per person.

If you have any questions or queries, please email the Outdoor Learning Team via bewl.water@theeducationpeople.org or call 03000 415 200.

These sessions adhere to Government Covid-19 guidelines and social distancing measures.

Additional information:

  • COVID-19 update:  Due to COVID-19, we’re currently working with smaller group sizes. Our toilets will be available but our changing rooms are currently closed but you can still access the COVID-safe facilities via the Bewl Water Cafe. We will email you further joining instructions when you book.  We ask you to respect certain COVID procedures that we have in place.
  • What we provide: All materials needed for the archery session.
  • What you will need: For the session, you need to dress for the weather. Due to it being Autumn, we would suggest you wear comfortable and warm clothes (layers would be a good idea) and bring a waterproof. You would need to wear sturdy shoes (which you don't mind potentially getting muddy) or wellies. We would also suggest you bring a possible change of clothes in case the activity is muddy! You might want to bring some water to drink and possibly sun-cream.
  • When to arrive: You will need to arrive 15 minutes before your booked slot to complete associated consent forms and get ready for the session.
  • Where to park: You can park at the main Bewl Water car park. This is a Pay and Display space (£5 per day). Further details will be emailed to you as part of your joining instructions.
