E-learning Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

What internet browser should I use to take a course?

The site should work with all browsers, however we do recommend chrome as this is tested to be most reliable and consistent.

I can't find the course I want to take?

You can search for courses in a number of ways:

  1. Via the search bar. Type in the name of the course or a keyword.
  2. Hover over Product & Resources in the purple bar, then select the services you are looking for and use the filter option on the left hand side after that.
  3. Hover over Training in the purple bar, and click E-learning then cycle through our carousel which has our entire catalogue of courses.

Can I take your courses if I'm dyslexic?

Yes, all our courses have a dyslexia helper extension added.  This provides alternative colour schemes to improve readability for dyslexic users.  
To do this, launch the course you wish to take and then click the eye icon in the top right hand corner of your page.
Then you can select the colour scheme which is best for you.

Do I need to complete a course in one go?

No, you can complete our courses in your own time. If you need to leave a course, click the course exit button to save your progress. This icon is in the top right-hand corner of your page. You will need to allow a few moments for CPD to register this progress before closing the window down

My progress bar within the course isn't showing as full, what part of the course have I missed?

If you are unsure what part of the course you have missed, click the progress bar and this will open a side window and any sections showing as white are incomplete.  You can go straight to those sections by clicking on them.

How do I get my certificate?

Once you have completed the course and an evaluation, click the course title link to take you back to the course overview page then click on certificate to download your certificate.

How do I buy an E-learning course?

There are a few ways to find E-learning on the site.
Firstly you can hover over Products & Resources (in the purple bar) and select the Service you want to look at.

The second option is to click Training (in the purple bar), then E-learning from the hover menu. Note that recorded webinars can be found in this way too and the same way as above.

The last option is to type E-learning into the search bar. This will bring back our entire E-learning catalogue.

The first and third options (above) will allow you on the next page to filter the products. On the left hand side click E-learning in the tick box.

Once you have found the course you want click View Product.

If you are buying more than one licence remember to change the quantity box.
These purchases can only be made by site admin (CPD leads/Settings Managers). If you think this should be you please contact the CPD team.

Click Buy Now once you are happy with your quantity.

This will add the product to your basket. Click the basket to continue.

If you have a voucher code please add this to the Voucher Code box and click Apply (grey button), then click Checkout (purple button.

If you don't have a voucher code just click Checkout (purple button).

Your details will now appear.

Click Continue (purple button).

Confirm your billing address, click Continue (purple button).

Click Continue (purple button) if you are happy with the details.

Select your payment method - Card, Direct Debit or Invoice.

Read the Terms and Conditions, and tick the box to confirm you have read and agree to the Terms and Conditions.

Click Submit Order (purple button).

You will see the Confirmation screen with your order reference number.

Your order is now complete.

To access your purchase click My Account (purple button).

Click on My Online Courses and start your course.

How do I assign a licence to a User?

Site admins will have the authorisation to assign licences of online courses to members of their establishment. Note the site admin has been identified as the current CPD Lead.

After Log In click My Account

Click Admin Area (purple button).

Our Courses - this area shows any courses your establishment has purchased.

Our Users - here is a list of all staff in your establishment with accounts with The Education People. This should be kept as up tp date as possible.

Our Products and Resources - this will contain any products or resources your establishment has ordered or been assigned.

Our Order History -  you can see the date of orders placed, the order number, the cost and who purchased.

Click Our Courses

Click the view assigned button. Note as the purchaser you will automatically see 1 licence is assigned to you.

If you wish to unassign your licence, click the Delete button (rubbish bin) then click Confirm. Note if you have started the course your will not be able to revoke a licence.

Firstly click 'Select existing user', if the member of staff is on that list click their name, then click 'Assign licence to a new user' from your organisation.

If the user you are looking for is not there, click 'Assign licence to a new user'.

This member of staff will receive an email confirmation with a link to the course.

These are the fields to be completed for assigning a licence to a new user.

Once complete click Assign licence (purple button).
