Childminders' safeguarding (eLearning)

Basic awareness training and outline of professional responsibilities to safeguard children and promote their welfare. To include an understanding of the Kent Safeguarding Children Board (KSCB) Threshold Criteria and how to make a referral to Specialist Children’s Services and an Early Help Notification. This course is only for Registered/Eligible Childminders.

School readiness (eLearning)

This course aims to support early years practitioners, children centres, schools and parents/carers in their understanding of School readiness and how they can support children with the transition into school.

Ofsted Education Inspection Framework (EIF) briefings

This two hour briefing is to introduce the new Ofsted Education Inspection Framework for Registered Early Years provision from 1st September 2019.
Objectives:
• Clarify the purpose and focus of the new framework
• Understand the expectations of inspectors and for providers
• Review the new key judgements
• Be familiar with the criteria that inspectors will use to make judgements

Early years and childcare briefing and networking sessions

The Early Years and Childcare Briefing and Networking Meetings are an opportunity for early years and childcare group providers in the private, voluntary, independent and maintained sectors to receive important national and local information from the Early Years and Childcare Service and other relevant partners and agencies. Guest speakers from a range of partners will be included over the sessions held three times a year in each area. This will also be a valuable networking opportunity for all providers.

Little scientists

This practical workshop explores the scientific elements within the EYFS. Practitioners will experience hands-on experiments to support young children's learning and development and will strengthen their knowledge to identify science within their settings.

  • recognise that there is potential to gain scientific knowledge from the environment, resources and routines, both indoors and outside
  • gain ideas for providing practical experiences to support children’s scientific learning and language development.

Basic awareness training and outline of professional responsibilities to safeguard children and promote their welfare. To include an understanding of the Kent Safeguarding Children Board (KSCB) Threshold Criteria and how to make a referral to Specialist Children’s Services and an Early Help Notification.

This course is only for Registered/Eligible Childminders.

To attend this course delegates must have written confirmation of a place and be on time (delegates more than 15 minutes late may be turned away and will not receive a certificate but will still be charged).
