Submissions in March
The 2018-19 closedown submissions are required to be submitted by the 25 March 2019.
If you have not received your closedown pack, please contact the Help Desk.
The Schools Financial Value Standard (SFVS) is required to be submitted by 31 March 2019.
The SFVS and accompanying guidance notes are available on KELSI.
School staff and governors can also use the E-learning course to help with completing this, which is available via CPD online.
Funding Update 2019/20
The funding update for 2019/20 is also being provided online via a webinar on Tuesday 19 March 2019 at 10am.
A recording of this will be available on The Education People website after this date for anyone who can't attend the webinar or the March Finance Information Groups (FIGs).
The slides and documents provided at the March 2019 Finance Information Groups will be available on the website shortly.
SFS offer a number of E-learning courses via CPD online which are free for any school or academy with a Core Financial Support Package.
These include the following:
- Capital Funding for Schools
- Financial Controls and Scheme for Financing Schools
- Financial Controls - Compliance
- Financial Controls - Fraud Prevention
- Schools VAT
These courses are great for new finance staff as well as senior leadership and governors in your school.

Scheme for Financing Schools
The scheme for financing schools statutory guidance has been updated and will be available KELSI shortly.
The Financial Controls for Kent Schools will also be updated to reflect these changes.

The Free School Meal Supplementary Grant allocations for schools and academies have now been published by the DfE.
The allocations and the information on the calculations can be found on the following website:
These may be included in payments made to schools and academies in March 2019.
The results from the consultation on the funding for the proposed employer contribution increase for the teachers pension scheme are due in March 2019.
Further details will be provided as part of the funding update at the Finance Information Groups (FIGs)
The condition of funding for 16 to 19 year olds has changed. Details on these can be found on www.gov.uk.
