ACADEMY CLOSEDOWN PACK
The FMS6 closedown pack for Academies has now been sent out to all Core Financial Support Package customers.

ACADEMY 3 YEAR BUDGET DEADLINE
The deadline for academies to submit their 3 year plans to the ESFA is 30 July 2019.
This needs to submitted online via the following website:
Any corporate cardholders who wish to speak to RBS about their card (e.g. transaction query), need to advise them that they have an "individually billed' account.
However, any requests for changes (e.g. purchase limits, merchant category blocking etc) will need to come via Schools Financial Services.
TEACHERS PAY GRANT
The ESFA have updated the supporting information regarding the calculation of the Teachers Pay grant for 16 to 19 students.
The methodology page has also been updated to provide payment dates for both Local Authorities and academies..
ACADEMIES FINANCIAL HANDBOOK 2019
The ESFA have published the 2019 version of the Academies Financial Handbook.
The changes from the previous year are summarised on page 8, which includes the following requirements for academies from 1 September 2019:
- Maintain a risk register
- Submit an annual scrutiny report
- Direct email address for all members and trustees
Any academies interested in having a risk register can use the version created by Schools Financial Services for Kent schools.
Search for "Risk Register" on KELSI to find it.

TEACHERS PENSION GRANT
The methodology for the Teachers Pension Grant has been updated to provide further details on the supplementary grant.
Further details are expected to be provided at the end of October 2019.

The ESFA sent a warning to schools regarding some recent sophisticated cyber attacks on education providers e-mail systems.
They suggest schools are alert to any e-mails that contain seemingly legitimate information and check the sender of an e-mail is genuine before sending any data (especially password or payment details).

As mentioned at the June Finance Information Groups, SFS will be offering group training to schools outside of our normal training programme.
Training will be available on Budget Monitoring from September and we will be offering this on other areas upon request.
