Introducing our new Specialist Lead for English
We are pleased to introduce Zoe Enser who has joined the School Improvement, Secondary, Special and PRU / Skills & Employability service as the Specialist Lead for English.
Zoe has over 23 years’ worth of education experience, starting as a Learning Support Assistant back in her hometown of Harlow in Essex. From this point, Zoe trained to teach and later went on to work as both the Examinations Officer and Second in Department.
Coming from Sussex, Zoe had whole school responsibility for literacy, as well as being a Head of Department for 11 years and has spent time working with East Sussex County Council as a Lead English teacher, developing practice, and using emerging technology in the English classroom. Zoe also worked as an AST for English, developing new and overseas teachers.
More recently, Zoe worked as a senior leader developing Teaching and Learning strategies and CPD across her school and has developed whole school strategies for higher prior-attaining students.
“I am really excited to have the opportunity to be working alongside you and to continue to explore all things pedogeological and subject related further.
“I am fascinated by teaching and learning as well as my subject and in recent years I have completed a Masters in English Literature, have written a number of articles for TES and have published case studies in books exploring staff development, assessment and support students’ progress.
“I will be communicating with English teams in Kent, sharing resources, events and ideas and I welcome you to input into this as much as possible. If you have something fantastic to share, I would love to hear from you!”
