Celebrating Excellence: Supported Employment Service Receives 'Excellent' Score by BASE

When it comes to education and employment services, transparency and quality assurance are integral. Employers and commissioners alike look for reassurance that the services they invest in are not only effective but also meet the highest standards. In this pursuit of excellence, The Education People's Supported Employment Service has reason to celebrate as it proudly announces its 'excellent' score awarded by BASE (British Association for Supported Employment) using their Supported Employment Quality Framework (SEQF).

The SEQF serves as a beacon of quality, auditing the model fidelity of supported employment services. This accreditation is not merely a badge of honour; it represents a commitment to meeting and exceeding industry standards while providing unparalleled support to clients searching for employment.

At The Education People we understand the importance of quality assurance, which is why we are thrilled to have undergone the rigorous audit process facilitated by BASE. This achievement underscores our dedication to delivering quality services and upholding the highest standards of excellence.

How Does the SEQF Audit Process Work?

Preparation

Prior to starting the audit, BASE carries out thorough preparation. The Supported Employment Service participated in a comprehensive workshop covering various aspects, including the importance of quality assurance, an overview of the EFQM model, and the specific requirements of the self-assessment and audit process.

Initiation

Once prepared, the service provided a completed self-assessment report along with supporting evidence. This step initiated the audit process, allowing BASE to delve deeper into our practices and procedures.

Audit

The audit team analysed a sample of clients, scrutinised case notes, and conducted interviews with stakeholders, including management, staff, clients and employers. This thorough evaluation led to valuable insights into the effectiveness of our services.

Judgement

Following the audit, the BASE team wrote a detailed report highlighting the service's strengths, areas for improvement and recommendations for future actions. This collaborative approach ensured transparency and accountability every step of the way.

Scoring Methodology

Based on the audit findings, The Education People's Supported Employment Service proudly received an 'excellent' score, signifying a commitment to excellence and exceeding industry standards. This recognition inspires us to continue our pursuit of excellence and further enhance the quality of our services.

“We are delighted to receive the highest accolade of ‘excellent’ following the vigorous SEQF assessment from the British Association for Supported Employment (BASE). It evidences the professional manner in which we engage, support and empower clients to find and sustain employment, as well as the support we provide to employers to enable them to recruit from this exceptional talent pool. The feedback from BASE states ‘Within the sector, the service is known as being a market leader, the service does deliver outstanding results.’ We are proud to be at the forefront of this sector and support students to be their very best in progressing into paid work and living fulfilled lives.”
